A Couple Goodwill Finds...

After dropping Braedon off at pre-school yesterday morning I made a quick stop at the Goodwill. I was actually looking for another dresser and/or bookshelf but didn't find either. But I did find these 2 items. I've been wanting a large basket to put on the back porch to keep all the outdoor toys in. Well this was the first thing I saw when I walked in. I picked it up & it was only $5 bucks! There was also another one just like it but a little smaller for $4, I didn't get it & now I'm wishing I had....oh well.

Then I found this pic to put in our bedroom, the colors match our comforter perfectly! And it was only $6 bucks!

Here's the basket w/all their toys in it & there is still plenty of room for more! I'm sure the Easter bunny will bring them some nice outdoor toys! I was thinking of maybe spray painting it but decided to just leave it.

I love a great deal! Total - $11 bucks! SCORE!

Have a great Saturday!

My New Wall & Another Dresser Redo

Ok, I know I've gone crazy with the whole spray painting the dressers in my house but I'm on a roll, so why stop now. LOL This is one of LuLu's dressers, all of her furniture is white except for 1 dresser. As you can see it was definitely due for some freshening up! It actually was originally in Braedon's room at the old house but put it in her room when we moved here.

And the after, just a fresh coat of white paint & then I did the knobs in the same purple that I used on her headboard which you can see here.

Now this wall is in my living room & had nothing on it. Originally I was trying to find some piece of artwork to put here. I did see many pictures I liked but usually they were out of my price range. Then I remembered I had these shelves my mom had given me. So up they went.

The 2 pics below the shelves I took....

The love pic I also did myself. The lamp hubby bought me at Pier 1 many years ago.

The dancer tealight candle holder was a gift from my mom for Christmas. The sign is from the Family Dollar. The glass is from our wedding.

And again.....

As always please tell me what you think. And one question, underneath the middle shelf should I hang something like a smaller pic or some sort of sign or do you think that will be too much? Let me know what you all think!

Dresser Redo & Linen Closet Makeover

So I've been busy again....lots of cleaning, reorganizing & spray painting of course. Must be Spring Fever hitting me! Course it is also due to the fact that I'm having a jewelry party here on Sun. & a few of my aunts are coming who haven't seen the house yet.

First I had to post this cute pic of LuLu. This is what she wore to school today, my little fashionista. She loves anything bright, loud, sparkly & shiny!

Ok on to the linen closet. I've been meaning to reorganize this for a while now, it was looking pretty shitty.

I hate how sheets never look very neat.

I took one of the shelves out because some of them were just to close together. I put all the beach towels way up top. Next was the sheets. I had seen on another blog a while ago how this person had folded the flat & fitted sheet as neetly as you can then you put them into the pillowcase & fold the rest of the case over. They ended up looking like a rectangle pillow. This way each set is all together. I like it this way MUCH better! The next shelf is for all the facecloths & hand towels.

Then the last 2 shelves are for the bath towels.

I even color coordinated them, I don't really know why, but it does look nicer I think. And now I even have more room to buy some more towels now if I want!

The top drawer of the cabinet I keep the toilet paper & soap in. The bottom drawer is for the hair curlers, hubby's electric razor & the travel cosmetic bags.

My bathroom isn't that big so it was kinda hard to get the whole closet in the same pic. So much better!

In between working on the linen closet today I tackled another one of the boys dressers. This is the before:

And the after:

Of course Braedon loves this one too. I'll be doing their other two dressers as well. Yes my boys have a TON of clothes. And I was sooo sick of them having mis-matched dressers. Normally I don't care too much about furniture not "matching" but 3 of the 4 are hand-me-downs that have definitely seen better days! Then once I have finished all the dressers I will show the entire room for you all to see.

What do you think? As usual I love getting comments!

Have a great night all!

Dresser Redo, Laundry Room Makeover & More...

I know I've been MIA for a few days but with good reason.

This is how my weekend went:

Laundry, Laundry & more Laundry!
Ugh... I HATE laundry!

I got the iphone last week & buddy has been all over it! I gotta say I think I have a little computer genius on my hands. He's very good w/the electronic stuff. We were in the Verizon store before I bought the phone & while I was talking to the sales person he picked up the iphone on display, pressed a couple buttons & bam music starts playing! The sales woman just looked at me like "how"? I said, "yup my little computer genius"!

Yes he was singing here.

Rylan discovered Braedon's Diego chair & has been obsessed w/it ever since.

The boys being silly....

On to my spray painting I did this weekend. These were the 2 colors I used.

This dresser was in our hallway holding extra sheets that didn't fit in the linen closet. One of the boys dressers was busted though so I needed to put it in their room. Not before I gave it a paint job. Braedon wanted me to paint it blue.
Here's the before:

And no I didn't take any in between pics, I did sand it down first.
I like how it came out, much better than before! Braedon of course loves it! What do you think?
After:

Next was this basket for the laundry room.
The nasty before:

After:

Here's my laundry room. It's in the basement, where the kids playroom is going to be, if we ever get it finished. We were going to put doors up but I don't have the extra money right now, so I found these curtains at Walmart. They match perfect w/the playroom colors & the laundry room!

Ta Da... I know there's no before pics. But just imagine gross wood paneling on the bottom & really old wallpaper on top. The wallpaper was so old I just painted right over it & you can't even tell! The color I used is Better Homes & Garden's Shadow Green. I really like it, it's not as bright as it looks in this pic! And I'm not totally done, I need to find some cute pics and/or signs to hang.
What do you think?

I also put some new shelves up in the living room but I'll show you all that in a different post.

How did you spend your weekend?
