Welcome to the World Leah Nicole!!

I'm Back!

I know it's been a while but I've been busy!
I've missed blogging, feels like forever since my last post!
Gotta admit though, I'm a little sad to have seen that I lost 2 readers....

Anyways as most of you know I was pregnant.
Well I had the baby and I've been trying to adjust to life w/5 children!
Now on to the littlest one's birth story.....

Ok, we were scheduled for a induction on Jan. 18th.
Bags all packed, we arrived at the hospital that morning about 7:45 a.m.
They started the pitocin about 9:00 a.m.
Throughout the day they checked me a few times but I wasn't progressing, was only about 3 cm.
Finally about 9:00 p.m. we made the decision to stop the pit for the night & try again the next day. It was started back up the next morning. Basically I was told if this didn't work again they would have to send me home. Well 4:00 p.m. rolled around & I still hadn't progressed so they sent me home telling me to come back Mon. morning unless I were to go on my own.

I was pretty upset, wanted to meet my little girl but she just wasn't ready to come out.
Now this was on a Thurs., Fri. nothing happened, Sat. day nothing, Sat. night I labored all night but not enough to go to the hospital, Sun. day nothing really, Sun. night again I labored all night, a little more this time but not enough to go to the hospital.Mon. Jan. 23rd we head back to the hospital again for 7:45 a.m.
The doctor comes in to check me & I was almost 6 cm.!
He said it wouldn't be long so to get my daughter's out of school if they wanted to be there for the birth. So, I sent my BFF to go get them.
Started the pit AGAIN for the 3rd time.
The contractions were coming real strong but my water was not breaking.
This baby was being so stubborn.
Finally I was prob about 8 or 9 & my water still hadn't broke so the doctor broke it for me.

I have never had an epidural w/any of my other children but this labor was so different, extreme pain in my rib area as well as the obvious stomach area, so I was crying telling them I couldn't take the double pain, it was too late for the epi though. They did have something else for me to try, it was a different drug, don't remember the name but it was also a spinal. It was supposed to numb you just like the epi. Just my luck though it didn't even work, well it did numb my bottom area but not the stomach area! So it wasn't totally pain free.

I started pushing at 3:00 p.m. & at 3:45 p.m.
LEAH NICOLE was born!
Weighing 9 lbs. 2 ounces, 20 inches!!
No wonder I had all that rib pain, it's because she was HUGE!

I was in such shock when they said she was 9'2 that I made them put her back on the scale so I could see it for myself! My other children were 7'4, 6'11, 7'0 & 6'13 that's why I was in such disbelief!

My girls, hubby, my mom & my sister were all in the room w/me.
My 8 year old Laci cut the cord!
Look how happy & proud she is!!

Don't mind how lovely I look, LOL.
Here they are putting the security tags on her.

Proud mommy & daddy.

My mom....

Here's my doctor w/Leah & Laci.
He delivered all 5 of my children!
I'm the only patient of his where he has been able to do this!

Rylan didn't know quite what to think....

Braedon was so excited to see her!!

Then of course there's Lauren who was happy but not about me taking her pic.
teenagers....

This is one of my favorite pics of her so far!

This was her "going home outfit"

My beautiful girl w/tons of hair!
All my kids had a good amount of hair at birth but Leah definitely ended up w/the most!

Leah is such a good baby.
She's now a month old and is already smiling.
She loves to snuggle & is a good eater, a little too much sometimes it seems, lol.

It wasn't exactly the greatest delivery experience as far as how the labor part went but in the end it was all worth it & I wouldn't change it for anything!!
