Five Question Friday!

1. Have you ever forgotten your child in a store or at school?

Um.... well ...yeah, I did 1 time. It was last year, Braedon's first year of preschool, only about a month into the school year. He went in the afternoon's & I always picked him up after getting Lauren from school. Well, I was talking on the phone(yes I know a no no!) and just drove straight home after getting Lauren (who didn't remember either)! As I'm pulling in the driveway I get a phone call on the other line, it was his teacher Kathy(thank god I've known her for a long time now), she was like "Allison are you coming to get Braedon"? I just gasped, I was so embarrassed & mortified, I was like "I'll be right there!" Thank god Braedon didn't even realize how late I was!

2. Where did you go on your very first date? (Like...first first, not first with your spouse or current significant other!)

Movies I think......

3. What's your "silly" fear? (We're not talking water and heights.)

BUGS!! Especially spiders, I'm afraid of those the most! But seriously, I really hate ALL bugs!

4. Confrontation: do you cause it, deal with is as it comes, or run far far away?

I try not to cause it. I definitely deal with it! Very rarely do I run from it!

5. Wood floors or carpet?

We have both and I like the look of wood floors & all but I would sooo rather have all carpeting. It's just so much easier in my world anyway, to just vacuum up the messes. With the wood floors you gotta sweep & mop, too much of a pain, I have enough to do w/4 kids!

What I Found Today....

Okay, I'm really starting to think I have a problem! I think I have become ADDICTED to going to the Goodwill & Salvation Army to find things to "make" beautiful for the house! I see all these other people doing it & want to join in the fun too! I used to shop @ the Salvation Army all the time when I was younger but kinda got out of it for a while, being to busy w/the kids/life & all. Anyway, I only found 2 things I liked today.


I collect Precious Moments, so of course when I saw this one for $5 bucks I bought it!

Then I saw this rack, didn't quite know what I was gonna use it for but for .99 cents I figured what the heck!

Here she is in her new home w/all of the rest of my collection.

Now for the rack I had pretty much assumed I would use it to display some cute dishes. I don't really have much wall space left in the kitchen/dining room, so I decided to grab the 2 sunflower plates I have & see if they fit. And they fit beautifully! My back porch/mud room is a pale yellow & I have it decorated w/a few sunflower items. Anybody who knows me knows they are one of my favorite flowers! I think it looks great, perfect spot in between 2 of the windows! What do ya think?

Not bad for $6.00!

Black & White Photo Party!

I've been following Tracy's Trinket & Treasure's blog for a while now. Well today she is having a Black & White Photo linky party, which of course I just have to be a part of! I LOVE taking/making black & white pictures! And of course love seeing everyone else's as well! I use Piccasa for all my photo editing & have been for a few years now. Here are a some pics of my kids I've taken over the last year or so.

Table Makeover!

Today I decided to make over this end table my mom gave me years ago. The top color goes well with my living room so I kept that color, but painted the legs black to match the end tables & coffee tables in the living room. This is the before:

My first spray paint job. Now I want to spray paint more I said to my husband, he just rolled his eyes at me & smiled.

Then of course I had to "decorate" the table.

Got this lamp from a partylite party many years ago. And my mom just gave me the notecards the other day, our last name initial but also because there is a tiny little Mickey Mouse on them & I LOVE Mickey Mouse.

My best friend gave me this one year for my birthday, it's called the dancer.
