Hello friends!
This post will be a short but quick post about our new coffee station area. A couple weeks ago the hubby was walking home from work & one of the neighbors was having a tag sale, well he got talking to them telling how I like to refinish old furniture. The sweet old lady told him she had a piece for him to look at. He saw it, liked it & quickly came to get me for my approval which of course he got! The best part it was only $10!! Here it is:
So, I got the sander out & got to work. I never took an in between picture. This piece was also a little rickity so my father in law came over to help me tighten it up a little with some wood glue. The color stain I used was special walnut, which I'm also using on my cabinets in my kitchen. I decided it was going to be our coffee station on top & I would store my cookbooks on the bottom.
Here is the finished product:
This piece had red tones so it ended up looking to be more like a red mahogany. Which is fine with me, I love how it came out! My brother had suggested getting a piece of plexi-glass to put on the top since we were using this as a coffee station. So, I went & got a piece which cost me more then I thought it would but I figured it was worth it so all my hard work wouldn't get ruined from coffee spills. I bought new handles at Walmart for $5.
Total amount on this project:
Stand - $10
Plexi-glass - $35
Handles - $5
Total - $50
Now I just have to get this all filled up! I'll post pics at a later date once it's all done!
I would love to know what you think! Have a great night!
ALLISON
