Pineapple Chicken

My sister has a crockpot cookbook that she uses often.
Well, she found a recipe for pineapple chicken & decided to try it.

I love making crockpot meals especially in the fall & winter time!
They all liked it & she had told me about it so, I decided to try it as well.

It's super simple!
This is all you need:
Chicken, a bottle of barbecue sauce & a can of pineapple.

put the chicken in, pour the barbecue sauce over it.

add the pineapple.

Cover on low for about six hours or high for 4 hours.
Now I cooked mine for 8 hours & it was too long, it was still good but the chicken was on the dryer side.
My family doesn't mind our chicken that way so it was good for us but if you like yours a little more on the moist side than I would say cook it for the 6 hours.

The chicken just fell apart, kind of like what barbecue pork does.
I made rice & put the chicken & pineapple over it than added some of the sauce to it.
My kids all scarfed it down!
The only thing I might add next time is a little brown sugar to maybe sweeten it up a bit, it was a tad tart because of the juice from the can of pineapple.
Other than that if your looking for a quick, easy meal to make than here you are!

Trip to Whitney's Farm

I decided to take the kiddos to Whitney's Farm today for a little bit in between all my running around.
Of course, Lauren wanted nothing to do w/it, sigh....
Anyway, here are a few pics.

LOL Look at Braedon's face! Silly boy!

Can you tell Rylan loves slides?!

Love the colored corn & corn stalks this time of year!

Pumpkins! One of my favorite things!!

I thought these were pretty cool looking!

This is a huge blow-up pumpkin that has air blowing around inside it, they put a bunch of balloons in it & the kids go in & chase them around!
The kids love it!

This is inside the corn maze.

My baby boy & I on the hayride.

LuLu & Braedon on the hayride.

LOVE this pic!

We had fun but it was really windy which made it pretty darn cold, so we only stayed for a little over an hour.
We didn't get any pumpkins today, we will get some next Sunday when we go to Ioka Farm (another local farm) w/my mom & siblings & their families.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!!

Five Question Friday

Today I've decide to join in on Five Question Friday
over at one of the blogs I follow, My Little Life.

1. Do you prefer your ice cream in a bowl or in a cone?

Well, I do like both but would probably pick a bowl so I can add all the toppings I want to!

2. What three things do you love the smell of?

Pumpkin is a definite! I am obsessed w/anything pumpkin related!
Apple pie, just love the smell of a fresh baked apple pie!!
And, babies! Just love the newborn smell! Soon I will have one all to myself again! :)

3. Giftcards or no? (In regards to gift giving...)

I do like to give & receive gift cards.
Especially if you have to buy a gift for someone who you don't really know what to get them or for teenagers, they always like to go pick out what they want!

4. What sports did you play in high school if any and do you still play them?

I was a cheerleader in high school & I also was a dancer at one of our local studio's from the age of 8 until 19.

5. Were you in band in high school? What instrument did you play?

Nope, I was too busy w/dance & cheerleading. But I did play the violin in elementary school for 2 years.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Girls Weekend in Maine!

My weekend trip to Maine w/the girls was great!
It goes by way too fast though!
I got a good start on some Christmas shopping & even got myself a few things.

Here are some pics of the trip, wish I had taken more but I got busy shopping, lol.

We got there about 10 in the morning on Sat.
We start by shopping at the Kittery outlets.
There is a lot of them so we spend the whole day there.
That night we had dinner at The Steakhouse, which we go to every year because it is sooo yummy!

The next morning we went to this beautiful little place called Marilyn's for breakfast.
This is the view from our outdoor table this year!

Fall Decor

IT'S FALL TIME IN THE MELLE HOUSE!

I finally got around to doing a little "fall" decorating around the house.
Honestly, I don't usually decorate that much for fall, but I've been inspired to this year by all my bloggy friends & seeing all the wonderful decorating jobs you have all done!!
So, here goes.....
This little table is in my living room.

I had some extra space on my counter top so I created a little vignette.
They are all things I already had around the house.
The picture I just printed off the internet.

This cute sign I got at Marshall's for like 6 bucks, it's on my back door.

This is our front door.
Got the wreath from Walmart for 10 bucks.

This shelf is in my Kitchen.

I found this printable off one of the blogs I follow, of course I can't remember which one.....
But, I loved it & just had to print it out!

This is on our Dining room table.
Hubby's mom gave it to me last year.

Since we don't have a fireplace mantel in this house I decided to make the shelves our "mantel".

The left shelf.....
The glitter pumpkin is from The Dollar Tree, which I placed on a candle holder I already had.
The printable is another one I got from one of the blogs I follow, again I forgot which one but Thank-you to who ever's it was.
The jar is from Michael's & I just added the ribbon & little glass acorns, total cost for that project was about 5 bucks.
The middle shelf....
The glass jar I already had & just added the fake little pumpkins & ghords from The Dollar Tree to it.
The sign I got from Family Dollar a while ago.

The right shelf....
The candy jar was my Mamie's & just added the candy corn.
The picture is one I took last year.

This is the corner cabinet in my living room.

My mother had gotten this basket for me last year at one of our local craft fairs.

And this cute little sign & pumpkins are sitting on top of my microwave.

Now I'm dying to decorate my front porch but haven't really had the funds lately to do so.

I won't be around all weekend because I'm leaving for Maine w/my sister & cousins for our annual girls weekend of shopping.
This will be our 6th year going & I can't wait!
The places we go to shop are wonderful!
Lots of unique little shops, not like the same ole places around here in the Berkshires.
I'll definitely be looking for some great new items for the house & it's also for me to get a head start on Christmas shopping for all the kiddos.

Anyway, hope you all have a great holiday weekend!
I'll be back either Mon. night or Tues. to post all about our adventures in the beautiful state of Maine!!

Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

Yesterday was such a crappy day out here in the Berkshire's!
All it did was downpour just about all day long.
It's been raining a LOT lately!

Well, I had forgotten to pull something out for dinner & still have a ton of apples, so I decided to make some apple cinnamon pancakes.
Good comfort food on a rainy day!
My kids absolutely love having breakfast for dinner!
I do it usually once a week.

Now mine are nothing special....
I use box mix, I just don't have the time to make them from scratch w/4 rugrats running around, lol.
Here are my ingredients.
Simple.

I just follow the package directions.
add 2 cap fulls of vanilla extract.
add a dash or two of cinnamon(however much you like).
dice up the 2 apples.

add the apples to the mix.

And cook.
We just use butter & syrup.
But you could also use some applesauce on top, I've done that before too & it's also yummy!

Rye Rye devouring his pancakes!

I love adding all sorts of things to my pancakes!
I've made strawberry, rasberry, blueberry, mixed berry ones, straw. banana ones.....
I told my husband before if we ever do someday open up a little diner, I'm in charge of the pancakes!

Do you eat breakfast for dinner in your house?
What kinds of pancakes do you make?

Have a great weekend!
